Facebook Fans Enjoy Random Acts of Kindness Giveaway

Ferndale, Michigan – Credit Union ONE recently held their annual Random Acts of Kindness Giveaway for their Facebook fans. 

“Random Acts of Kindness” was a promotion for fans of Credit Union ONE to randomly be selected to win one of ten gift cards ranging in value from $15 to $100. The promotion began on March 2nd and ran through March 13th, with two drawings being held during that time.

“Engaging fans on our site and giving fans an opportunity to win something totally random were the goals for the promotion this year,” said Neetu Singh, Vice President of Marketing for Credit Union ONE. “This has been a successful promotion over the past three years.  Our fans truly appreciate the giving spirit of Credit Union ONE, which provides goodwill to the organization.”

Marketing initiatives included email, in-branch, website and Facebook promotions.

Random Acts of Kindness appreciated by Credit Union ONE

Ferndale, Michigan – After realizing great success in the past two years, Credit Union ONE brought back their Random Acts of Kindness Giveaway for their Facebook fans. 

“Random Acts of Kindness” was a promotion for fans of Credit Union ONE to randomly be selected to win one of eleven gift cards ranging in value from $15 to $100. The promotion began on March 3^rd and ran through March 17^th, with three drawings being held during that time.

“Engaging fans on our site, increasing our overall fan base, and giving fans an opportunity to win something totally random were the goals for this promotion,” said Swami Seetharaman, Chief Marketing Officer of Credit Union ONE. “The past two years this promotion has been successful, but this year we were delighted to see an increase of 1,293 fans in just two weeks.  Our fans truly appreciate the giving spirit of Credit Union ONE, which provides goodwill to the organization.”

Marketing initiatives included email, in-branch, website and Facebook promotions.

Overall an increase of 1,293 Facebook fans to the site was realized, “likes” increased by 777, and fans commented over 134 times during the promotion.  The Credit Union ONE Facebook site now has over 8,000 total fans.

Ferndale, Michigan – Have you ever gotten more than you asked for at an ATM? Well, if you visited the Credit Union ONE Grand Rapids branch in July and used their ATM that might have happened to you.

This past month, those using the machine located at 1609 Walker NW in Grand Rapids may randomly have received a $50 bill instead of a $20 bill in their transaction. Approximately $2,000 was given out to lucky recipients.

The promotion which ran from July 10th through July 31st was designed to create awareness of the ATM and branch location, support the current branch efforts, and to show member appreciation.

And speaking of appreciation, according to Credit Union ONE Grand Rapids Branch Manager Sharon Blower, “It was wonderful that so many people came in concerned that they received too much money, but when they realized the additional money was theirs to keep as a thank you for their patronage, they were very excited!”

Promotional marketing efforts included email blasts to Grand Rapids Branch members, online banking notifications, flyers that were posted in the branch and on the ATM, as well as Facebook postings during the month of July.

During the event, a couple of winners volunteered for a photo, which were posted on Facebook generating some good conversation. Some of the comments included questions regarding whether we were going to do this in other locations and when.

Although no other promotions like this have been scheduled, Credit Union ONE is looking at scheduled more “Money Give-Aways” in the future.
