NO TXT ZONE Campaign Earns Award

Ferndale, Michigan – Throughout the year, Credit Union ONE engages in various activities that support our members and the communities in which they live and work.

One such project that the credit union chose to support in 2014/2015 was the NO TXT ZONE, a campaign to help make our roads safer by educating and encouraging individuals not to text and drive.

The campaign, published by UpNorthLive.com and channels WGTQ/WGTY-TV in Traverse City was sponsored by community partners Credit Union ONE and Williams Chevrolet.

Much time and effort from the news stations and both community partners was put into the program; from high school presentations, news stories, and commercials, to sign-up events where individuals took a pledge not to text and drive.

For their success with the campaign, on March 11, 2015, the Michigan Association of Broadcasting (MAB) Broadcast Excellence Awards presented WGTQ/WGTU-TV with the highly coveted Merit Award for Community Involvement.

"Typically we are about providing credit and a safe place to save, however credit unions at their core are about people helping people," said Neetu Singh, Credit Union ONE Vice President of Marketing.Credit Union ONE is proud to be part of such a meaningful program that is making a difference in the lives of the community.”
