Credit Union ONE Repacks Food For Forgotten Harvest

Ferndale, Michigan – Twenty Two Members of Credit Union ONE’S Leadership Team volunteered about three hours each on June 5th, to repack and help ship over 8,500 pounds of food . Included were peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes and beef sticks. This food is rescued from stores and food plants, and redistributed to help those who are in need.

In 2013 Credit Union ONE started a partnership with Forgotten Harvest by holding food drive collections during the Holiday’s. For the last two years members of the Credit Union ONE  Leadership Team have volunteered at both the Distribution Center and a Forgotten Harvest Farm.

“ It is amazing what gets accomplished at these food repacking events in such a short amount of time” said John Kozich Vice President of Community Relations.” This is a great teambuilding exercise and it really helps out Forgotten Harvest”. Future events are being planned with Forgotten Harvest and the Leadership Team of Credit Union ONE.
