Credit Union ONE makes strides to Walk for Warmth

Ferndale, Michigan – With just under a month to go, employees of Credit Union ONE are gearing up in preparation for the 22nd Annual Walk for Warmth which will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills. Walkers are collecting pledges, and Credit Union ONE will donate to the cause on behalf of each employee that walks.

The Walk For Warmth is an annual event that raises funds and promotes awareness of the emergency needs of low-income people. All funds raised benefit those who face heat-related emergencies during Michigan’s harsh winters.

"We are proud to once again be a part of the Walk for Warmth," said John Kozich, Executive Director of Community Relations for Credit Union ONE.  Our staff looks forward to this event every year, and the opportunity to help those in our local communities.

In 2011, over 524 families and 778 individuals were assisted by the Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency (OLHSA) with funds from Walk for Warmth, and as always, 100 percent of all proceeds go back into the community.

The new venue this year will offer walkers great entertainment as well as shopping discounts from various outlet stores throughout the mall.
