Ferndale, Michigan – Where else would you have the opportunity to win $1,500 and help the environment at the same time? The ‘It Pays To Go Green” sweepstakes, which ran from May 15, 2011 – June 30, 2011, encouraged Credit Union ONE members to enroll in Online Bill Pay and automatically be entered to win one of three amazing prizes. Online Bill Pay is free to enroll, easy to use and just think of how many trees will be saved in the process. If only 20% of US households switched to electronic bills, statements and payments, over 1.8 million trees would be saved each year!

Credit Union ONE today announced the weekly and first place winners of the “It Pays to Go Green” sweepstakes which was open to all Credit Union ONE members who were checking account holders in good standing, who were at least 18 years old by May 15, 2011 and were legal U.S. residents.

Prizes awarded to Credit Union ONE members included one first prize; an Amazon Kindle™, and seven runner-up prizes; a 10-piece Garden Set.

Gary Martin, a current Online Bill Pay user is the lucky first place winner who received an Amazon Kindle™. He was joined by seven weekly winners as they too visited the credit union to retrieve their 10pc Garden Tool Kits.

“With Online Bill Pay we’re giving our members an opportunity to switch to online payments which makes bill management a simple process and protects the environment,” said Kristopher Brosnihan, Credit Union ONE Web Analyst. “This sweepstakes is a great opportunity for us to reward our loyal members for their commitment to going green.”
