Credit Union ONE Hosts Branch Tour for Summer Campers

Ferndale, Michigan – Credit Union ONE helped a group of day campers meet one of their summer goals by hosting a tour of the credit union’s West Bloomfield branch on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. 

Members of the Jewish Community Center’s Teens All Together program, located in West Bloomfield, wanted to visit a financial institution and learn more about its daily operations. The Teens All Together program is tailored for teens and young adults with special needs and focuses on vocational training, life skills, and community experiences.

“Credit Union ONE is always seeking the chance to encourage financial literacy, especially at a young age,” John Kozich, Vice President of Community Relations for Credit Union ONE, said.

Credit Union ONE staff, including Kozich and branch manager Ruth Reed, led 25 campers and counselors on a tour of the office. During the 45-minute tour, staff led a discussion about the different aspects of running a financial institution and explained credit unions and their roles within the community.

“Our Teens All Together participants really enjoyed the tour,” said Nichole Shotwell, Special Needs Director for the Jewish Community Center. “They deeply appreciated the kindness that was shown to them.”

Representative Kesto Visits Credit Union ONE

Ferndale, Michigan – Michigan District 39 House Representative Klint Kesto spent some time last Friday, February 22nd and visited with Credit Union ONE staff and members in West Bloomfield.

The West Bloomfield Branch of Credit Union ONE was the perfect spot for Representative Kesto to meet with constituents as he represents the residents of the city of Wixom, Commerce Township, a portion of West Bloomfield Township and the village of Wolverine Lake.

While visiting the branch, Representative Kesto was able to speak with credit union management about some of the issues that are important to the credit union.

“We were glad to host Representative Kesto,” said Stephen Dedene, Credit Union ONE Manager of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs. “The time that he took to stop by, meet our members and staff, and share some conversation with us was very valuable and appreciated.”

Come Hear The Band

The Orchard Lake Middle School Band serenaded Credit Union ONE’s West Bloomfield branch on Thursday, October 21st as part of the branch festivities celebrating International Credit Union Week. The band, directed by Mr. Jeremy Figlewicc played through the rain for the enjoyment of the staff and Credit Union ONE guests.  Take a listen to the music of this up and coming band.
