Ferndale,
Michigan – Credit Union ONE helped a group of day campers meet one of their summer
goals by hosting a tour of the credit union’s West Bloomfield branch on
Wednesday, July 15, 2015.
Members
of the Jewish Community Center’s Teens All Together program, located in West
Bloomfield, wanted to visit a financial institution and learn more about its
daily operations. The Teens All Together program is tailored for teens and
young adults with special needs and focuses on vocational training, life skills,
and community experiences.

“Credit
Union ONE is always seeking the chance to encourage financial literacy,
especially at a young age,” John Kozich, Vice President of Community Relations
for Credit Union ONE, said.
Credit
Union ONE staff, including Kozich and branch manager Ruth Reed, led 25 campers
and counselors on a tour of the office. During the 45-minute tour, staff led a
discussion about the different aspects of running a financial institution and
explained credit unions and their roles within the community.
“Our
Teens All Together participants really enjoyed the tour,” said Nichole
Shotwell, Special Needs Director for the Jewish Community Center. “They deeply
appreciated the kindness that was shown to them.”
