Credit Union ONE Steps Out for Diabetes Walk

Ferndale, Michigan – Continuing to help make strides in the fight to cure Diabetes, Credit Union ONE participated in the Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes, held at the Detroit Zoo on Saturday, September 13, 2014. 
 
Approximately 50 Credit Union ONE employees, along with friends and family contributed $3,000 in combined corporate and individual donations. 
 
“Being able to contribute to an organization such as the American Diabetes Association allows us to support our life science partners in the community, and to participate in a cause that touches all of us in one way or another,” said John Kozich, Vice President of Community Relations for Credit Union ONE.
 
One of many Step Out Walks throughout the country, the Walk held in Detroit had a goal this year of $650,000. With more than 3,000 walkers and 399 teams, they are confident they will reach their goal by the end of the campaign. Over .84 cents of each dollar raised goes directly into research and programs to help the over 25 million people in the USA with this illness.

Credit Union ONE supports Diabetes Walk

Ferndale, Michigan – Continuing to help make strides in the fight to cure Diabetes, Credit Union ONE participated in the Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes, held at the Detroit Zoo on Saturday, September 14, 2013. 

Approximately 150 Credit Union ONE employees, along with friends and family contributed $4,000 in combined corporate and individual donations. 

“The walk was a good opportunity for us to participate in a cause that touches all of us in one way or another,” said Swami Seetharaman, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Credit Union ONE.  “Being able to contribute to an organization such as the American Diabetes Association allows us to support our life science partners in the community.”

One of many Step Out Walks throughout the country, the Walk held in Detroit had a goal this year of $600,000. With over 3,500 walkers and volunteers, they have already raised over $550,000 with several commitments expected, and are confident they will reach their goal by the end of the campaign. Over .84 cents of each dollar raised goes directly into research and programs to help the over 25 million people in the USA with this illness.

Credit Union ONE has record turnout for Walk

Credit Union ONE Walkers get ready to Step Out to Stop
Diabetes at the Detroit Zoo
Ferndale, Michigan – For the 2nd year, Credit Union ONE employees, along with friends and family gave back to the community and participated in the Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes event, held at the Detroit Zoo on Saturday, September 15th.

White Credit Union ONE hats could be seen virtually everywhere, as the credit union set a new record with approximately 150 walkers participating this year. This year over $4,200 in donations from combined corporate and individual giving were raised by the credit union. Not only was it a fundraising participation record for Credit Union ONE, but according to a source from the Walk, it was also the largest group participating in the Detroit Walk.

According to Swami Seetharaman, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Credit Union ONE, “The walk was a good opportunity for us to participate in a cause that touches all of us in one way or another. Being able to contribute to an organization such as the American Diabetes Association allows us to support our life science partners in the community. We were surprised by the number of walkers we had, and are truly proud of the Team.”

Credit Union ONE Steps Up to Step Out for Diabetes

Ferndale, Michigan – Where can you go on a nice fall day, have a great time with friends, and donate to a very worthy cause at the same time? Credit Union ONE employees, along with friends and family found the place to be was the Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes event, held at the Detroit Zoo on Saturday, September 17th.

The Credit Union ONE Team, comprised of 23 walkers contributed close to $2,000.
