Credit Union ONE helps to make the season bright

Ferndale, Michigan – Giving back to the community is something that Credit Union ONE is very familiar with, and during the holidays this is no exception.

During the month of December all branches of Credit Union ONE including their Grand Rapids and Traverse City branches collected toys for the Marine Corp Toys for Tots program.  This year the collection included over 1,000 toys that will help to bring joy to many children in Michigan.

Also, food drives for Forgotten Harvest in Metro Detroit, the Father Fred Foundation in Traverse City, and the West Side Food Pantry in Grand Rapids were held, which resulted in approximately 1,200 pounds of donated goods for those in need.

"Throughout the year we engage in many community and charitable activities, but at this time of year we go all out to live the people helping people philosophy and provide for those less fortunate and in need. Each toy, can of food and dollar donated by employees and our members have a direct and tangible positive impact on our communities,” said Gary Moody, President and CEO of Credit Union ONE.  “Typically we are about providing credit and a safe place to save, however credit unions at their core are about people helping people."

Credit Union ONE, headquartered in Ferndale Michigan for seventy-five years, offers a wide array of financial services and access to over 30,000 ATM’s nationwide, serving 110,000 members, with eighteen offices in three major metropolitan areas, including Metro Detroit, Grand Rapids and Traverse City.
