Ferndale, Michigan - Credit Union ONE held a document shred day at two of their branches on Saturday, May 17, 2014.
Members of both the Ferndale and Grand Rapids branches took the opportunity to do some spring cleaning and rid themselves of unwanted documents.
“The shredding event was created to raise awareness about the risks of identity theft and fraud, and to provide a safe and convenient way to dispose of unneeded paperwork," said John Kozich, Vice President of Community Relations for Credit Union ONE. "Every year several million people are victims of identity theft, and with events like this we hope to lessen the risk for our members.”
"I am so thankful that Credit Union ONE provides such great services for its' members," said Pamela Roundtree; while another long-time Credit Union ONE member Linda Cooke said, "having events like this for members is such a great idea, thank you for thinking of us!"
Shred Corp., the industry-leading document recycling company donated their time and equipment to provide secure on-site shredding services. After the event, the shredded paper waste was taken away for recycling into paper towel.
