Credit Union ONE Team helps Walk for Warmth

Ferndale, Michigan – For the seventh year, a team of approximately 55 Credit Union ONE staff and family members walked this year in the 24th Annual Walk for Warmth which was held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills.

The Walk for Warmth is an annual event that raises funds and promotes awareness of the emergency needs of low-income people. All funds raised benefit those who face heat-related emergencies during Michigan’s harsh winters.

“We are extremely pleased that our team continues to grow each year,” said John Kozich, Vice President of Community Relations for Credit Union ONE.  Our staff is very enthusiastic about this very worthwhile cause and looks forward to participating each year.

A Heart of Bronze sponsor, Credit Union ONE contributed close to $1,000 to the Walk for Warmth, which included walker pledges and a corporate donation made on behalf of everyone that walked.

The goal this year is $130,000 for the walk, and by all indications this will be exceeded.

In 2013, over 350 families were assisted by the Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency (OLHSA) with funds from Walk for Warmth, and the need is even greater this year.  As always, 100 percent of all proceeds go back into the community.
